Objectives
THE U. C. Thesis corresponds to the years of development and production of the doctoral thesis under the continuous supervision of the
supervisor or group of supervisors chosen by the students, and therefore aims to achieve the following objectives:
O1) To apply and expand practical knowledge in the development of individual projects;
O2) To develop an investigative practice that includes the drafting of preparatory written documents (specific reading sheets, essays, draft
chapters, abstracts of articles for peer review) to structure the body of the dissertation document;
O3) Ensure the completion of the research work and the conditions for its public defense, contributing to the field of heritage studies.

Program
C1. The development of theoretical-practical research, including its field of action (case studies) and an articulation between a proficient
bibliographical review, the assimilation of the state of the art (literature on the subject) and the practical and creative part of the research
work.
C2. The final object of this CU will be the preparation of the thesis.

Evaluation Methodology
Assessment will take place in two stages, the first relating to the preparation and submission of a detailed report in which each doctoral
student will have to describe the activities carried out within the specific scope of their research during the first year of the Thesis curricular
unit (2nd year of the course) and the second, relating to the submission of the final document of their doctoral thesis (worth 100% of the
final assessment), which should take place in the 3rd year of this course, within the deadlines to be regulated by the Polytechnic Institute of
Tomar in agreement with the respective partners.

Teaching Method
Guidance sessions organized according to meth. criteria of work and supervision evaluated by advisors, presupposing collaboration and development of autonomous discourses and research 'art-based research', for the writingof the thesis.
