Prerequisites

Objectives
• Develop essential knowledge about the physicochemical properties of hydrogen and its behavior under different operating conditions.
• Understand the relevance of green hydrogen in the energy transition.
• To make known the main production methods and their economic and environmental impacts.
• Develop knowledge about the safety and regulatory standards applicable to the handling of hydrogen.
• Develop skills in the safe use of hydrogen systems.

P1 – Properties and Fundamentals
•Physicochemical properties.
•Comparison with other industrial gases.
•Role of hydrogen in the energy transition.
P2 – Production Methods
• Electrolysis (alkaline, PEM, AEM, SOEC).
• Reform, gasification and biological processes.
• Economic aspects and market trends.
P3 – Storage, Transport and Distribution
• Gaseous, liquid and solid storage.
• Transportation by pipelines, road, rail and sea.
• Emerging technologies (metal hydrides, nanomaterials).
• Standards and requirements for maintenance and monitoring.
P4 – Safety, Risks and Procedures
• Explosive atmospheres (ATEX)
• Leak detection
• Means of protection
• Emergency procedures
• Standards and good practices.
