Prerequisites
Objectives
A. Understand the principles of digital cinematography;
B. Learn to operate digital cinema cameras and related equipment;
C. Develop composition and framing skills;
D. Acquire proficiency in lighting techniques for indoor and outdoor environments;
E. Explore color correction and gradation processes;
F. Creatively apply the knowledge acquired in the production of practical exercises.

3. Principles of composition and framing;
4. Lighting techniques;
5. Integration of sound with digital cinematography;
6. Video post-production in a digital environment;
7. Project development in the cinematography component;
8. Production and presentation of exercises with practical and creative application.
Evaluation Methodology
Continuous assessment:
Presentation of practical cinematography exercises.
Exercise #1: scene applied to on-camera practice of focal lengths, exposure and depth of field, including analysis and a technical report (20%).
Exercise #2: scene applied to lighting design for camera, including analysis and a technical report, integrating content from the previous exercise (20%).
Exercise #3 (final): scene applied to cinematography practice in a production context, including colour correction and grading in post-production, with analysis and a technical report, integrating content from the previous exercises (20%).
Attendance and participation: 20%.
Assessment by exam (normal, resit, special):
Presentation of exercises.
Exercise #1: Final Project a short mini-film applying cinematic genre techniques (50%).
Exercise #2: Cinematography dossier:
#2.1 Analysis and technical report on focal lengths, exposure and depth of field practice (12.5%).
#2.2 Analysis and technical report on cinematic genre lighting design practice (12.5%).
#2.3 Analysis and technical report on cinematography practice with colour correction and grading (12.5%).
#2.4 Analysis and technical report on post-production (12.5%).
Assessment follows Article 11 of the IPT Academic Regulations. Students with a mark equal or superior to 10 in continuous assessment are exempt from the exam.
