Objectives
Understand the concepts of contemporary art and culture from education and training in tourism
Program
1. Texts and material on contemporary culture
2. Study on baroque and neoclassical aesthetics
3. Explanation on the philosophical currents of the contemporary era
4. Focus and comments on artworks
5. Description on how the arts of the 21 century depend on the previous artistic styles
Evaluation Methodology
Continuous assessment in two parts:
Theoretical part
- open-book written test as part of continuous assessment
Practical part
- compulsory Thematic Assignment presented either individually or in groups (50% of the final mark).
- Exam exemption with 10 marks
Weighting of the Practical Part - Students attending the course with less than half of the theoretical-practical contact hours will be penalised with 2 points (on a scale of 0 to 20).
Exam assessment: two assessment parts
Theoretical part
Open-book written exam (worth 50% of the final mark)
Practical part
Worth 50% of the final mark
1) The thematic assignment developed during the semester can be presented:
2.Alternatively, the Student carries out an assignment on a topic given on the exam paper and to be presented to the lecturer within 8 days of the completion of the Theoretical Part.
