Objectives
The aim is that students acquire the basic principles of emerging technologies in artistic production, namely digital fabrication tools, the Internet of Things, robotics, and sensors. The objective is for them to be able to apply these principles to support the organization, development, and execution of performances.

Program
- Electricity/electronics: current, voltage (AC and DC), resistance, power supplies and batteries. Power and energy. Fundamental laws. Test and measurement equipment and their use. Safety and protection systems: grounding, overcurrents, etc. Introduction to fundamental components: capacitor, resistor, coil. Introduction to semiconductors. Examples of use in equipment: power supply systems, mechatronic actuation systems and basic safety rules;
- Sensors and actuators: technologies, characteristics and fields of use. Operating principles and main characteristics of: motors, piezoelectric systems, lighting, hydraulics, pneumatics, etc. and their fields of application;
- Computer-aided design: basic concepts of 2D and 3D modeling;
- 3D printing: printing technologies and materials used;
- Internet of Things: platforms and systems for data acquisition and transmission. Communication protocols (e.g., DMX512, Artnet, sACN, RDM, MIDI, OSC, etc.). Software for interconnecting with lighting and sound platforms;
- Robotics: Mobile platforms such as DRONES. Operating modes and types, categories, current legislation, etc. Introduction to flight, content capture: video and audio.

Evaluation Methodology
Written exam, accounting for 30% of the final grade. Assignments to be completed during the semester will account for 70% of the final grade.
Passing the course requires a grade of 10 or higher overall.
The grades for the assignments remain valid for all assessment periods.
There are no minimum grades for partial assessments.
