Objectives
To empower students to understand and analyze the practical implementation of food assistance operations in emergency contexts, including different response modalities, logistical challenges, inter-institutional and civil-military coordination, as well as security constraints, humanitarian access, and operational ethics.
Specific objectives include:
- Understanding how a food distribution operation is implemented, the various modalities (food, vouchers, cash), and logistical challenges.
- Understanding the support services for an operation: supply chain, transportation, storage, emergency telecommunications.
- Understanding the process of liaison officers, civil-military coordination, and negotiation of humanitarian access to conflict zones.
