Objectives
To provide students with an integrated view of the planning, coordination, and operational management processes of humanitarian responses, from the mobilization of resources and teams to the strategic design of the response, enabling them to understand and apply the main instruments of the humanitarian programming cycle in emergency contexts.
Specific objectives include:
- Explaining the life cycle of humanitarian aid from donor to recipient.
- Understanding the role of UN agencies, governments, NGOs, and national systems in emergency responses.
- Understanding how humanitarian responses are linked to the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
- Applying the processes of the Humanitarian Program Cycle: needs assessment, Overview of Humanitarian Needs, Humanitarian Response Plan, and operation design.
