Objectives
By the end of the course, students should be able to plan, analyze, improve, and control the main areas of Operations Management, with the goal of enabling organizations to create value through the efficient use of resources, namely:
I. Understanding operations management as a tool to enhance competitiveness in organizations;
II. Identifying opportunities for improvement and elimination of waste in organizations;
III. Knowing and using planning and control tools (production capacity planning, inventory management, and demand forecasting);
IV. Developing skills in preparing and analyzing information to support data-driven decision-making;
V. Recognizing the importance of integrating operations management with other functional areas such as financial management, human resources management, accounting, or marketing.
VI. Strengthening scientific research, improving the technological capabilities of industrial sectors, and encouraging innovation.
VII. Substantially reducing waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling, and reuse.
VIII. Promoting sustainable public procurement practices, in accordance with national policies and priorities.
